Vote Yes for Justice Center hosts North Liberty Open House
IOWA CITY, IA —Vote Yes for Justice Center will host an open house from 6 – 7PM on Monday, October 22, 2012 in the library at the North Bend Elementary School, 2230 St. Andrews Drive, North Liberty, Iowa, [map] to provide information to the public about the proposed new Justice Center for Johnson County. (see map below)
The open house will give residents the opportunity to learn why the Justice Center is needed to address safety, security and space needs at the current courthouse and jail. Attendees will be able to see the exterior and interior layouts of the proposed Justice Center and meet with the architects from Neumann Monson who helped design the Center. Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek and Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness will be present to answer questions about the needs that will be addressed with the Justice Center.
Members of the Yes for the Justice Center are a group of local concerned citizens supporting a sensible solution to the critical challenges facing our local justice system. They want to make sure that the public has accurate information about the proposed Justice Center. Johnson County residents are being asked to approve the bond issue when they vote on November 6th. The open house will allow attendees to learn more about the background, planning, and design of the Justice Center and make an informed vote.
The open house is open to all members of the public. The community is invited to bring their questions and comments about the Justice Center to Monday’s event. More information is available at www.jcjusticecenter.com.
