We write in support of the proposal to improve the civil/criminal law complex for Johnson County. That complex is more than courtrooms and jail cells.
In 1984, our court-appointed duties as conservator for our son began at least annual reports to the Clerk of Court office in the courthouse. The past 29 years have been opportunities to witness more and more crowding and activity in the offices of the Clerk of Court, as well as in the other court offices.
The physical plant’s “remodeling” to enhance accessibility, safety and patron/employee accommodation seem at their limit.
The 2013 Johnson County civil/criminal law complex has well documented needs for additional space, improved security and accessibility. Please vote. Sixty percent approval is required.
